Leadership: As both Governor and Attorney General Jerry Brown exhibited strong leadership and a commitment to the environment and our oceans. He has been a strong advocate for renewable energy and cutting pollution as well as our coastlines, parks, and open spaces. Under his governing California successfully fought against offshore drilling and he signed into law the California Coastal Commission and Coastal Conservancy Acts. He also added more than 700,000 acres to our state park system and protected much more. His vast experience in this position and others as well as his detailed plan to protect our environment and our coastlines, which includes fighting offshore drilling, decreasing agricultural runoff, implementing a climate change adaptation plan and protecting our coastlines and beaches, make him a solid candidate for governor and a strong voice for our environment.
